Almonds

Almonds are particularly well adapted to Mediterranean type climatic conditions, flourishing under warm, dry summers. Almonds dislike “wet” feet and due to early flowering can be susceptible to frosts. Grown on Peach rootstock, mature height 4-5m. 1 to 5 or 1 to 10 pollinator ratio.

IXL
A consistent cropper of large nuts that have a soft shell almost paper shell. The kernel is mid to dark brown with a broad base tapering to a sharp short beaky point. Used for blanching, roasting, eating fresh, and cooking. A partially self-fertile variety but pollination is assisted by Mona Vale.

NO. 402
A large soft-shelled almond which is an early and prolific bearer. It has a long flowering period and is a good pollinator.

SELF-FERTILE
A vigorous and prolific bearer, self-fertile variety.
